GG1 Express Train on the Northest Corridor. Howard Fogg never exactly had a specific location where his paintings were located. From the river on the enginneer's side of the locomotive, we believe this GG1 Washington to New York express train is in Northern Maryland or Southern Delaware along the Delaware River, circa late 1940's or early 1950's. The famous PRR GG1 locomotives, designed by Raymond Lowy, are now long retired and Amtrak operates all Washington-New York service on the Northeast corridor. The memory of the GG1 at 100mph plus stirring up snow on the old PRR four track mainline was preserved masterfully in this rendition by Fogg.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Greeting: May the thoughts of Santa's visit of yesteryear to this Pennsylvania Railroad Streamline bring fondest memories of holidays old and new. Best of the season this year and a prosperous New Year.
